She has a wonderful sense of humour; pretend to fall over and you will have her laughing! One of her favourite comedies is ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’. There will be times, especially when Lily is tired after being at the Day Care Centre, that she may just want to be left alone to listen to music and watch slides on her iPad. Once you get to know Lily you will know when to give her some space.Overview of role: Shift begins at 08.00 am, once you have said a sunny good morning, you will hoist Lily, over to her changing mat, give her a flannel wash and dress her before moving through to the kitchen for breakfast (full ceiling hoists are in place). Lily attends a fantastic Day Centre which is only a 5-minute drive from home. Drop off is 10.15 am, so the morning shift ends at 10.30 am. Pick up time is 4.15 pm. Once home Lily may choose to go into her standing frame or have something to eat first. In her standing frame (one hour) she really loves her support worker to paint her nails or watch TV with, or just chill by herself. During this time there are a few light household duties, related to Lily, to do. Once tea is finished and Lily is ready to be taken through to her bedroom, it’s relaxed, getting ready for bed, then once settled Lily’s mum will come through, around 8.15/8.30 pm. Tuesdays and Fridays, 08.00am to 10.30am, then 4.00pm to 8.30pm.
