We are committed to empower people to rebuild their lives and regain independence. \nThe service you will work in….\nHestia Brent Domestic Abuse service (Brent DAS) is based in an outer London borough in Northwest London. We run an accommodation service with the capacity of 32 units and within Brent DAS, we have five accommodation services for survivors of domestic abuse. There are two specialist services, which are our South Asian Domestic Abuse Refuge and our Complex Needs Unit. The complex Needs Unit has a combination of rough sleeping, sex working, domestic abuse, and substance misuse support. \nWe have an integrated work relation with internal and external services. We are a team of three domestic abuse refuge workers, two complex needs support workers, a children & family support worker, a team leader and a service manager. We are a service user and trauma informed led service and provide emotional, advocacy and practical service to our survivors, aiming to empower survivors of domestic abuse whilst staying within our accommodation.\nA day in this role looks like….\nAs a complex needs support worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic Abuse service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.\nA day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:\n\nHave allocated service users to carry out 1:1 support session.\nExplore service user's needs and refer to services to ensure needs are met.\nCarry out safeguarding concerns to safeguarding leads, social services, and mental health.\nOversee being a part of strategies meetings involving professionals and ensure case notes are update, assessments carried on and safety plans are reviewed.\nOversee housing maintenance regarding repairs and following health and safety guidelines.\n\nWhy Hestia?\nJoining Hestia means more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger. We support people in enduring mental health crises aged 18+ who have housing and support needs. They may be leaving the hospital, being registered for care, being homeless, being threatened to be homeless or living accommodation that is not meeting their identified needs. The services will also be used as a ‘step up' or ‘step down' from other supported accommodation, where appropriate.\nA day in this role looks like…..\nAs a support worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and with the goal of finding permanent accommodation and living independently.
